Waiting, waiting, waiting.......he did very well going 5 1/2 hours without eating before surgery, he even took an hour nap in the pre-op room
Many of you probably already are aware of this, but this past friday Owen had ear tubes put in both of his ears because of recurrent ear infections. The procedure is called Bilateral Tympanostomy with Tube Placement and basically that means they go in and place a small incision in the ear drum and then place a tube to help the fluid drain. The ENT doctor, Dr. Kevin Carpenter was GREAT and the procedure was over before we knew it. They did have to put our little man under with mask anesthesia, but he was back in our arms in about 30 minutes. He did very well and cried a very short amount of time.......he was STARVING (or so he thought:-). Thank you to everyone who prayed for the surgery to go well and us to be at peace while he was in the operating room. We are glad to have this behind us and are thankful that Owen will be able to hear much better and hopefully have less ear infections now.
I'm so glad it went well! I can't imagine having to put Amara through that. Poor Owen! But such a cutie in scrubs :)
